Family Pictures

Well, we finally did it.   Family pictures that we can all agree on, and I really mean family pictures that I can agree on :)  Here they are:

I think we are going with this first family picture but I am not 100% sure.

Sisters picture is a definite yes.

Jamie

And Caitin's? Well, we can't decide...

which one.

Priest Lake 2014

WE ARE CRAZY ABOUT PRIEST LAKE!

We try to go every other year and it's difficult to even secure a camping spot...it's that great!  The water is clear, the campgrounds are right on the beach, and the sand is the best around.

Here are a few pictures of Jamie and Brandon skim boarding:

We need to come up with something different next time than just tubes, although we did borrow a friend's canoe and used it a little.

And of course, sandcastle building:

Run, Run, As Fast As You Can...

Today was Caitin and Jamie's first Cross Country meet.  They have been practicing four days a week for two weeks now.  We are so proud of them!

Jamie's race was first and here she is at the starting line (in the pink shirt).  We are so proud that she did her best and ran hard the whole way.  She is one tough cookie!

Here Jamie is on the last leg of the race, running what we call "bear speed."  It's the speed you would run if you were being chased by a bear says Coach Farley.

A while later, Caitin's group ran.  Caitin qualified for the All City meet by placing in the top 10.

She is definitely "all legs."

It was exciting being a parent for the girls' first competition.  I got a little bit of running in also as I chased them around the course cheering them on.  Go Mustangs!

Caitin's 9th Birthday

And... we're back up and running.  Hopefully this first post motivates a certain someone to continue.  So, my first thought for this blog is that I was pretty sure we were over My Little Ponies...wrong!  This past weekend we celebrated Caitin's 9th birthday by roller skating and having "pony" games.  Here is what it entailed:

We first went roller skating with Rarity.  Caitin really wanted a roller skating party.  Even those who weren't sure about skating picked it up fast and had fun.

Then we came home for cake and ice-cream.  It's a bit shiny but you get the picture.  Brandon worked on this cake all morning long.  Caitin and ALL of her friends thought it was awesome, even the boys.  It tasted really good too...that was my part.

We played bobbing for apples with Apple Jack,  pin the tail on Pinky Pie, and flying balloons with Fluttershy.

What a great end to a great day.  The weather was perfect, and Caitin was really pleased.  That's what counts, right?
