New Found Interest

The Spokenagels ARE still alive.  It's been a while since we last posted but there hasn't been anything really exciting to post about.  Basement progress is slow and the same old thing...mudding.

Thanks to those who gave me birthday money this year.  I have been wanting to start wearing jewelry more often and so I decided that I was going to make a bracelet.  I bought some glass beads and went to a friends house for help in putting it together.  I would like to start making more.  It was actually really easy and this is the finished product.

This on the other hand, is NOT one of my new found interests!  Yes, it has to get done, but I find every excuse I can to not be down there sanding.  Luckily it's only needed a little bit so far.

BIG Basement Progress

Thanks to our home teacher and a couple of neighbors from church, our basement ceiling is completely done!  That is the hard part...so I'm told.  It took about four hours last night and it looks great.

It finally looks like a room is coming together.  We couldn't have done it without all of them.  Thanks Gene, Kenyon, and Justen.  Now we can save up for someone to come and do the mudding, taping, and texture.  Any takers?

Another One Bites the Dust

So, out of the many projects needed to complete our basement, two are finally done and one to follow soon after.  I must say that the wiring took longer than I expected.  Thank goodness the insulation went faster.

Brandon and I spent last night insulating our basement ceiling and the last of the walls.  We had to get it done fast because on Sunday our home teacher volunteered to help drywall tonight.  I have two things to say about the insulation:  It's nice to see some type of big progress, and ITCHY!

Hopefully tonight there will be more big progress and pictures to post tomorrow.

Media Center Progress

Been up to a little fun lately in the basement.  The TV will mount in front of this bundle of joy:
And the devices will all reside in the game closet to the left:
 Which has lots of wires:
 That are nice and tidy:

Oh that Brandon...I can't believe how awesome he is!  I mean, he has his limitations.  His blogging skills lately are abysmal.  But these are easily overlooked when you see what he's up to:

For our anniversary he did a little shopping, and all on his own, found a bracelet set that was to die for!  Check it out:
He even took me to look at them, I guess so he could judge my reaction.  Unfortunately, the price tag was outrageous.  I really liked them.  I guess my reaction was favorable, though because he went and made me a set.  I'm often worried about his creative nature, but this time he kept it in check and this was the result:

I was astounded that he could just go out and create this!  What an awesome guy!  But it gets better.  Since he was a little late getting this together (only a month AFTER our anniversary), he decided to keep going.  He made matching sets for the girls for Christmas, including necklaces to match:

We all proudly wore this beautiful jewelery to church that day, and were so proud to have these original and loving tokens!

Now if we could just make HIM a little more presentable...
