Achieved

It has finally been achieved!  Caitin and Jamie had both tried wakeboarding a few times and could get up, but now they can get up AND go far.  Caitin can board for about 10 minutes and Jamie is just as close, so here is just a short clip:

As wakeboarding parents, we couldn't be more proud.  Like a kid in a candy store, it makes us giddy to see them accomplish this, and the fact that they really enjoy it is great!  We are definitely loving the investment.

Easter in Ontario

There are two things we did this Easter that are worth mentioning:

1.  An Easter egg hunt which included two baskets and two separate hunts for eggs.  The girls, Caitin especially, thought it was really special that they got to have 2 of each.

We had a really tall Easter bunny this year, or one with a playful personality.  Caitin wondered how in the world she was going to get this one down.

There were 50 eggs in total but one fell through the fence into the neighbors yard and two were not found.  I guess Grandma will find a special surprise sometime this summer.

We learned from Caitin's experience that it's just easier to have mom hoist you up for the "unreachables."

2.  We went boating.  However, all of us weren't as CRAZY as Brandon who thought that 49 degree water was okay to wakeboard in.  I guess the excitement of your first boat outrides the realistic side of things.

Yes people, he is going to get in!

Does this constitute having his "board" legs back?

Here is our addition to our family.

Family Pictures

Well, we finally did it.   Family pictures that we can all agree on, and I really mean family pictures that I can agree on :)  Here they are:

I think we are going with this first family picture but I am not 100% sure.

Sisters picture is a definite yes.

Jamie

And Caitin's? Well, we can't decide...

which one.

Priest Lake 2014

WE ARE CRAZY ABOUT PRIEST LAKE!

We try to go every other year and it's difficult to even secure a camping spot...it's that great!  The water is clear, the campgrounds are right on the beach, and the sand is the best around.

Here are a few pictures of Jamie and Brandon skim boarding:

We need to come up with something different next time than just tubes, although we did borrow a friend's canoe and used it a little.

And of course, sandcastle building:

Run, Run, As Fast As You Can...

Today was Caitin and Jamie's first Cross Country meet.  They have been practicing four days a week for two weeks now.  We are so proud of them!

Jamie's race was first and here she is at the starting line (in the pink shirt).  We are so proud that she did her best and ran hard the whole way.  She is one tough cookie!

Here Jamie is on the last leg of the race, running what we call "bear speed."  It's the speed you would run if you were being chased by a bear says Coach Farley.

A while later, Caitin's group ran.  Caitin qualified for the All City meet by placing in the top 10.

She is definitely "all legs."

It was exciting being a parent for the girls' first competition.  I got a little bit of running in also as I chased them around the course cheering them on.  Go Mustangs!
