Pic Nic
We went down to the river this weekend for a little picnic. One of Caitin's favorite summer activities is to throw rocks in the river. She would do it all day long if we had the endurance to hang by her. Here are a few pictures of the trip. The bridge you can see in the background is a suspension walking bridge. Right now the water is still near flood stage, and it is amazing to see.

This is at the "Bowl and Pitcher" picnic and campground about a 1 1/2 miles from our house. It's neat to be able to get away from the city so quickly. One of my regular cycling routes is a loop that travels down a parkway along the river and then back upstream along a paved pathway. It turns out about a 14 to 25 mile ride, depending on where I enter and exit the loop.
Caitin has now been given the privelege of controlling her window. She loves to have the wind in her hair! If she doesn't get a good enough draft, she'll say, "Mommy, I want wind in my face!" Sarah is then good enough to roll down a front window also to get proper circulation.
Here is a shot across the river from where we were standing. I don't know how these rocks look like a bowl and a pitcher, but there they are.
