WORDS

Caitin has finally caught on to the idea of speaking. A couple of weeks ago she began venturing beyond "no" and "yets" to say words when coaxed... "pese" and "Dady". Just today I heard probably 5 new words! She knows the names of Thomas ("Toss") and his friends ("Peecee" and "Jainse"), says "toot toot" when she plays with them, asks for "cheese pese", and points to a jar of "penies" to play with on the bed. She attempts thank you ("de-do"), but we are more likely to understand "ti-er" and know she wants to watch "Pooh". Her own name has been pronounced properly a handful of times, but is most often reduced to "Tin". When she is in the tub she throws the shampoo bottle across the tub and says "SPLASH!" Very often we hear "theese one" and see her holding something in particular or pointing to a "game" that she wants to play.

We are glad she will be able to converse with her grandma and grandpa at Christmas time. We also look forward to the time when we no longer have to guess what she wants or doesn't want. Some day she may even be able to say "MOM"!

  1. Maybe you can get her to say "Tracy". I'd totally make a trip up to hear that ;)

  2. No problem Tracy. She's picking things up quickly now, so schedule the trip! Last night we were driving down-town and missed a parking spot. Sarah said, "Oh poop!" and Caitin copied, "Poo!". We looked at eachother and Sarah replied, "At least I didn't say crap." Again Caitin copied, "Cap".

  3. So I noticed that you enjoy playing Shadows over Camelot? Is it any good? Do you own it? We have a ton of new games (well that we've collected since we've been married). We need to get together and seriously play!!!
